REV Clinical Appoints Fairooz Kabbinavar, MD, FACP, as Chief Medical Officer


Veteran oncology executive and translational research leader brings decades of global clinical development expertise to REV Clinical

REV Clinical today announced the appointment of Fairooz Kabbinavar, MD, FACP, as Chief Medical Officer, further strengthening the company’s leadership in oncology drug development and global clinical research.

A Harvard- and UCLA-trained, board-certified medical oncologist, Dr. Kabbinavar brings more than 25 years of academic oncology leadership and over a decade of biopharmaceutical development experience. Throughout his career, he has advanced oncology therapies from early-stage development through pivotal clinical trials and global regulatory approvals.

Dr. Kabbinavar previously served as Professor of Medicine and Professor of Urologic Oncology at UCLA, where he also held the Henry Alvin & Carrie L. Meinhardt Endowed Chair in Cancer Research. During his tenure, he directed multiple oncology programs and served as Chairman of the Institutional Review Board at the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center.

In industry, Dr. Kabbinavar has held senior leadership roles including Chief Medical Officer at Cardiff Oncology and Tocagen, Global Head of Research & Development at HUYABIO International, Senior Vice President of Clinical Research & Development at Puma Biotechnology, and Principal Medical Director at Genentech. Across these roles, he led global development strategies spanning immuno-oncology, targeted therapies, biologics, gene therapies, and translational oncology programs.

His work contributed to landmark oncology approvals, including bevacizumab (Avastin®) in metastatic colorectal cancer and atezolizumab (TECENTRIQ®) in extensive-stage small cell lung cancer. Dr. Kabbinavar has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and has participated in over 125 clinical trials as a principal investigator or sub-investigator.
